May Meeting -- Annual Meeting and Dinner

Our Annual Meeting and Election of Officers are the principal item on the agenda for May.  We will meet and partake in a wonderful family style dinner before conducting our business and holding elections.  This meeting is scheduled for May 16, 2005 at the Milano Inn located on the near south side of Indianapolis.  You can find additional information for this meeting below.  Once again we are inviting spouses and guests to the Annual Meeting, space will be limited so please mark your calendars now.

Spouses are invited to join us for the evening.

Location: Milano Inn

231 South College Avenue, Indianapolis
just west of Interstate 65 at Georgia Street, east of downtown Indianapolis.

Evening Events begin at 5:30 PM with cocktails and reception.
Dinner starts at 6:00 PM with Annual Meeting beginning at the end of the meal.

Call for Officers

We are looking for members who would like to become officers for the 2005-2006 year including those wishing to start the climb to the role of Section Chairmanship.  Interested individuals could start as Secretary or Treasurer, or even as Vice-Chairman leading then to Chairman.  There are also committee chair openings, if you can help or have an interest, the officers will help you with a committee.

Science and Engineering Presentations:
 
There are interesting scientific or engineering presentations given during lunch time at Scientech every Monday except for major holidays.  The Scientech meetings have a $9 buffet starting from 11:30 to noon, and then there are introductions and the presentation from 12:10 to 1:00 PM.

Current planned topics are:

 Monday, May 15 – Challenge X: The Crossover to Sustainable Mobility – Drs. Zac Chambers and Marc Herniter, Rose Hulman

Rose-Hulman is one of 17 international colleges and universities in which students are challenged to design, build and test a hybrid powertrain utilizing alternative fuels to decrease fuel consumption and emissions of a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. The team has implemented a powersplit architecture using B-20 bio-diesel and will be competing in Phoenix in June, 2006.

Monday, June 5 – Hybrid Transmissions – Allison Chief Engineer
