September Meeting – Networking - Planning / Dinner Meeting

 

Date:  Tuesday, September 7, 2010. 

 

Schedule:  5:30 PM for Dinner and Networking followed by a Planning Meeting

 

Description:  Please plan on joining us for our first meeting of the 2010-2011 Local Section Year, our Networking and Planning Meeting including introduction of this year’s Officers. We will partake in a buffet dinner followed by our meeting with introduction of Officers.  You can find additional information for this meeting below in the From the Chairman… section.  As always, spouses and guests are welcome to join us, so please mark your calendars now.   After the meal and discussion we will carpool or caravan to the nearby Eagle Creek Park on 56th Street for a hike, perhaps around Lilly Lake.   

 

Location:  Imperial Palace Restaurant, 5510 Lafayette Road, Suite 230, Indianapolis, IN.

Price:  To encourage attendance, the meal cost for local AIChE section members will be covered by the local section.

From the Chairman …

 

Our first meeting of the 2010 program year will be an activity to get acquainted, network, and help plan the rest of the year.   We will meet Tuesday, September 7 at 5:30 PM for dinner at Imperial Palace, 5510 Lafayette Road, Suite 230, Indianapolis, IN 46254.  They have a large selection of authentic Chinese Cuisine in a quiet air-conditioned setting.  The meal cost will be covered by the local chapter for the Indianapolis Section of AIChE members.  Non-members may join the section for $11.   After the meal and discussion we will carpool or caravan to the nearby Eagle Creek Park on 56th Street for a hike, perhaps around Lilly Lake.

Directions:  The Imperial Palace is in the middle of a strip mall in the southwest corner of 56th Street and Lafayette Road.  5510 Lafayette Road, Suite 230, Indianapolis, IN 46254  Going north on I-65, pass the 38th street exit, get off on exit 121 turn right (north) on Lafayette Road, enter the strip mall on your left just south of 56th street.  Going north on I-465 get off at 56th Street, proceed east (right) on 56th and a mall entrance is on the right just before Lafayette Road or on the right after turning right onto Lafayette Road.  From the east, take 56th Street to the west, turn left onto Lafayette Road and the mall is on your right.
 
If someone would like their company featured in an upcoming AIChE plant tour please e-mail or call to let me know.  October 2010 or in 2011 would be good times for plant tours.  Letting me know on availability of a room for an evening speaker would also be helpful.  
 
Saturday, November 6, 2010 is Chemistry day at the Children's Museum that we provide an activity for.  Monday November 15 will be your Chairman's Scientech luncheon presentation on "Solutions to Mysteries of Life and the Universe from sciencedaily.com".
